On idealista’s 2026 data the Mijas average is €3,684 a square metre, so this home comes in close to a third higher. Laguna Suites is a gated scheme of 187 homes, a few minutes from the A-7 motorway and the beach. Each apartment has between one and three bedrooms. The penthouses, on the top floor, have terraces of up to 165 square metres, with a small private pool, an outdoor kitchen and two parking spaces. Around the buildings are three outdoor pools and gardens, and indoors there is a spa with its own pool, a gym and a room for coworking.
Shared between the 187 homes
The same floor runs through the whole home, without breaks between rooms: GRATO TechStep, in planks 23 centimetres wide and 1.8 metres long with the look of wood. Its rigid core of limestone and polymers sits on a built-in acoustic underlay that absorbs up to 16 decibels, and it resists water. The terraces are laid in GRATO Mons Grey porcelain.
Everything in the bathrooms is by GRATO: Mons Light wall tiles in 30 by 90 centimetre pieces, a Tanos vanity with two drawers and a built-in basin, a granite-finish shower tray behind a chrome-framed screen, a Blautherm thermostatic shower column with a 30 centimetre head, and a mirror lit around its edge.
GRATO units on moisture-resistant board, with finger-pull handles, soft-closing Hettich Sensys hinges and drawers that pull out fully. The appliances are by BALAY: an induction hob, an extractor, an oven, a fridge, a microwave and a dishwasher. The sink is by Poalgi.
Air conditioning runs through ducts to the living room, the kitchen and the bedrooms, controlled from a thermostat in the living room. Hot water comes from a high-efficiency heat pump that takes up to three quarters of its energy from the outside air, and it can be controlled remotely.
Double-glazed aluminium windows, their frames insulated to stop heat passing through, with blinds in the bedrooms and the living room. Inside, the doors are white lacquer with chrome handles, and the bedroom wardrobes, also in white lacquer, have a shelf at the top and a rail for hanging clothes.
Simon 270 switches in white, a video entry phone, and sockets for data and television in the living room and each bedroom. Solar panels on the roof produce electricity for the building.
AThe developer rates Laguna Suites A for energy use and A for emissions: under 44.6 kilowatt hours a square metre each year, and under 10 kilograms of carbon dioxide. Both are the highest grade the Spanish certificate gives.

Work began in July 2025, the month the building licence was granted, and is due to finish in the fourth quarter of 2027. The price is paid in three parts: 20 per cent at the private contract, 20 per cent over the course of construction and 60 per cent at completion, with IVA on each. The developer states that what you pay before completion is guaranteed by the insurer Azuaga Companhia de Seguros, with the money kept in a special account.
While the buildings are going up, we can visit the site together, so you can see how far the work has come and where your home will be. Before each payment falls due, your lawyer and I confirm it is covered by the insurance guarantee. At the end, we compare the finished home with the list of materials before you take the keys.
